Thanks giving is fast approaching and so is time for homemade cranberry sauce! I have to admit for years I was kind of afraid of fresh cranberries. I just didn’t know what to do with them until a lady I knew made fun of my family for buying canned cranberry sauce. I though if she can make her own then so can I. And you know what? It’s really easy. I don’t blame her for teasing me now that I know. To top it all off it also tastes so much better I don’t think I could ever go back.
- 1 pack of fresh cranberries
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of water
Wash off the cranberries making sure to pick out any bad-looking ones. Add them to a pot with the water and sugar and let them simmer until they look like cranberry sauce. The cranberries will all burst and the pectin will gel up. I love watching it transform before my eyes.
