This is my most favorite cranberry sauce of all time! I was planning to make my spiced orange cranberry sauce last year when moments before dinner I realized that I had completely forgotten to buy oranges. There was no orange juice in the house either. All I could find was a container of tropical juice and a small can of crushed pineapple so I threw them both in an hoped for the best. I turned out perfectly!
- 1 pack of fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of tropical fruit juice
- 1 small can of crushed pineapple
Wash off the cranberries making sure to pick out any bad-looking ones. Add them to a pot with the remaining ingredients and let them simmer until they look like cranberry sauce. The cranberries will all burst and the pectin will gel up. This truly is a great sauce! It really smells like the tropical fruit but when you taste it it’s still undeniably cranberry sauce!
