Garden Dill Salad!

19 Jul

I love this salad! Another recipe from my grandma’s era. I look forward to this one all year too.

1 Head of Fresh Garden Lettuce (any variety)

1 or 2 Fresh Garden Onions

1 or 2 Handfuls of Fresh Dill

2 Tbsp Mayonnaise

2 Tbsp Sour Cream

2 Tbsp Sugar

2 Tbsp Vinegar

Chop veggies and mix in a salad bowl. In a separate bowl combine all other ingredients and mix well. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss making sure to coat it evenly. It is best if you eat it immediately. Just like any old fashioned recipe feel free to adjust for personal taste. If a person was so inclined they could probably throw a few garlic scapes into the mix too.

  1. This sounds simple and delicious. My kind of recipe. Your grandmother sounds like an amazing cook. I will let you know how it goes. I love how many of the ingredients I have grown myself or found locally. Should be scrumptious. Thanks Lisa!

  2. Hey Farmbaby! I tried this last night. Delicious.

    Thank you!
