This is one of the first things I ever learned how to cook and when I need something fast and easy that tastes delicious it is one of my go to sauces.
What you will need:
3/4 Cup Ketchup
1/2 Cup Sugar
2-4 Tbsp Vinegar
1 Can Pineapple
1 Onion Chopped
Chopped Different Color Peppers (optional)
Chop your meat into larger than bite sized pieces because it will shrink as it cooks down and you don’t want it to get too small. Fry it at medium to high heat in a cast iron pan making sure to brown it on both sides. You want to have as much of that browned meat on the bottom of your pan as possible to flavor your sauce. As soon as your pan is brown enough throw in one chopped onion and let it cook down a bit. Next add your can of pineapple juice and all and use the juice to stir up all of the browned meat from the bottom of the pan and incorporate it into the sauce. Add the chopped peppers, about 3/4 cup of ketchup and 1/2 a cup of sugar stirring and coating the meat and veggies completely. Lastly add a splash of vinegar about 2-4 tbsp worth and cover your pan and let everything simmer until you are ready to eat. This sauce is best served over rice.
