I think that it’s important to note here that I am not, by any means at all, an expert on babies. In fact I’m exactly the opposite! I have had very little experience with babies in my life time. None, in fact, until my nieces were born. That was the first time I had ever willingly held a baby or even changed a diaper. I have never been the kind of person to gush over a baby. They always seemed so small and fragile I didn’t really feel comfortable around them. I don’t have to tell you that there is a pretty big difference between babysitting every couple of months and having a baby full-time.
I knew nothing about how to get a baby to sleep or stop crying. Every new product or idea that I come across that entertains my daughter or soothes her or helps her sleep seems like a full-fledged miracle to me. I think that is why I’m so inclined to share these discoveries with the world. I figure that even though these things may be very simple or common place they were pretty amazing to me when I found out about them so why not pass it along. Maybe I’ll even save a few of you from some sleepless nights or frustrating moments when you just don’t know what to do.
If I’ve learned any thing about babies it’s that the second you’ve figured out what works perfectly your baby develops a little more and it’s right back to the drawing board. Parenting seems to be all about flexibility and the ability to keep coming up with new ideas. Each time a new set of ideas becomes obsolete it’s really exciting because of all the incredible new things your baby can do! So if you’re a new parent like me who knew virtually nothing when your little bundle arrived then good luck and have fun! Parenting is the most challenging, rewarding thing I have ever been lucky enough to participate in. I’ll keep sharing tips and if there’s anything you found helpful I would love it if you felt like sharing too. As I said I’m hardly an expert here and I’ll always be happy to learn a little more.
